The Friends of Human Relations of Santa Clara County is a nonprofit organization founded in 1985 by Jim McEntee. (The Jim McEntee Legacy Committee is now completely incorporated into The Friends of Human Relations.) The mission of Friends today is to continue Jim’s vision and spirit in the community. The Friends board currently oversees the Jim McEntee Legacy Art Project, raises funds for the McEntee Legacy College Scholarship Awards, and serves as the fiscal agent for the County’s Office of Human Relations and the Institute for Nonviolence.
Ann McEntee and the Friends of Human Relations were joined by supporters on April 16, 2016 at our fifth annual Jim McEntee Scholarship Fundraiser and Celebration. Guests enjoyed authentic Persian appetizers and desserts provided by Malek's Catering, San Jose and exciting live music from the Brian Ho Jazz Trio. Keynote speaker was the Hon. Jim Beall, CA State Senator and a tireless community champion. In addition, a highlight of every year's event is previewing the very best of contemporary Latino art. and MACLA's 18th Annual Actuion was on display in the gallery. Click here for an event program.
